Play Acting for Children in English

Places! classes take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, in the "Jugendzimmer" of the Catholic church, Rellstenstrasse in Adliswil.

The class presentation for 2009 was held in November and focused on the games the children play to develop various skills; listening, concentration, communication, creativity, etc. The mythology presented was a Norse mythology, Thor and his magic hammer.

Our next production is Treasure Island--The Musical, which we are currently rehearsing. This production will be performed on the 8 and 9 May 2010.

"What will my child do in class?"
Each class starts and ends with a drama game, these are designed to promote concentration, focus, co-ordination, creativity and communication in a fun way. Each lesson has a specific focus, and the range is extensive. I have listed some of the many activities in which your child will participate below:

Exploration and discussion of word games
Prepare, present and act out short stories and poems
Presenting to audiences, live or on tape
Read plays (on their own and with others)
Compare written original work with film version
Re-present features of....a radio or television programme
Respond to drama they have watched as well as that in which they have participated

Each of these activities will be formatted to suit the capability of the class.
